Main Event: Silva and Wang Fight for a Vacant Crown

This fight almost looked completely different. Shevchenko was originally slated to defend her belt against Silva, but the two-time champion informed the promotion in late August that an undisclosed injury would keep her out for as long as a year, forcing the UFC to scramble for a replacement main event. Rather than delay the title picture, the promotion elevated Wang Cong, a late replacement riding a four-fight winning streak, to face Silva for the now-vacant championship.

Silva, 20-5-1, has spent years building a case as the division's most well-rounded threat, mixing crisp striking with underrated grappling exchanges, and she enters as the betting favorite given her deeper experience against ranked competition. Wang, 10-1 and largely unproven against the division's elite, gets the biggest opportunity of her career on short notice. It's an unconventional path to a title fight, and reaction to the matchup has been mixed among fans expecting a marquee superfight, but Wang's win streak and Silva's readiness make this a legitimate crowning moment regardless of how it came together.

Co-Main: Figueiredo Looks to Spoil a Rising Contender

Former flyweight champion-turned-bantamweight standout Deiveson Figueiredo steps in against Payton Talbott, one of the division's fastest-rising prospects. Figueiredo, 25-7-1, brings championship-level power and finishing instinct built over years at 125 pounds, while Talbott, 11-1 and ranked in the bantamweight top 15 media rankings, has built his case with slick counter-striking and underrated grappling defense against increasingly stiff competition. This is exactly the kind of gatekeeper fight that either validates Talbott as a genuine title threat or gives Figueiredo a signature scalp in his new weight class.

Featured Bouts Worth Circling

King Green and Esteban Ribovics headline the featured lightweight action, a clash between a UFC veteran known for awkward, unorthodox striking and a hard-charging South American finisher trying to crack the rankings. Welterweight gets a heavy-handed showcase with Roberto Soldic facing Khaos Williams, two of the division's biggest one-punch threats, while middleweight sees Ateba Gautier take on Roman Kopylov in a matchup that could end abruptly given both men's finishing instincts.

What to Watch for on the Prelims

The undercard is stacked with familiar names looking to extend their UFC tenure. Johnny Walker, the No. 13-ranked heavyweight in the media rankings now moving up from light heavyweight, opens against unbeaten Englishman Mick Parkin in a fight that tests whether Walker's dynamic striking translates against the bigger frames of the heavyweight division. Veteran Marvin Vettori returns against Ismail Naurdiev at middleweight, a bout that pits Vettori's grinding wrestle-heavy approach against a durable striker looking to spring an upset.

Rafael dos Anjos is back inside the Octagon for the first time since October 2024 to face Alexander Hernandez in a matchup between two veterans who have shared the cage with a who's who of the sport's recent history. Bantamweight prospect Marcus McGhee, ranked among the division's top 15 media rankings, meets Bernardo Sopaj in a fight that could push the winner closer to the rankings' cutoff. Flyweight gets an intriguing pairing with unbeaten Imanol Rodriguez taking on veteran finisher Alden Coria, while Damian Pinas and Andrey Pulyaev square off at middleweight in a clash of styles between a one-punch knockout artist and a durable Russian grappler.

Welterweight opens the broadcast with Court McGee, a UFC lifer and former Ultimate Fighter winner in his retirement fight, taking on Eric Nolan in a gritty, veteran-heavy scrap, while undefeated former NFL player Anthony Wint looks to stay perfect against Lucas Armand on what could be one of the night's most explosive finishes given Wint's ability to put his opponent's to sleep.
